" Henri Rousseau is a favorite painter of mine and this painting was pretty much inspired by his work along with some other magic realism, and surrealism painters as well. I really love working with this red against the many greens and flora. Jerome and the Lion is actually a biblical story in which Jerome removes a large splinter from the lions paw. Love that idea too."
